Smile with confidence with tooth whitening: a fast, non-invasive procedure to brighten your smile.
Dental whitening
Tooth whitening, also known as dental lightening, is a popular cosmetic procedure designed to lighten tooth color for a brighter, more radiant smile. It's a non-invasive solution for improving dental aesthetics by reducing staining and discoloration caused by factors such as coffee, tea, red wine consumption, smoking or the natural aging process.
Definition :
Tooth whitening can be performed in several ways, the most common being with products containing hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide. These whitening agents penetrate tooth enamel and break down the molecules responsible for staining, revealing a brighter shade.
For external bleaching, either a special bleaching tray is manufactured and worn independently by the patient at home, following precise instructions ("home bleaching"), or external bleaching is carried out at the dental surgery ("in-office bleaching").
In the case of "at-home whitening", an individual mouth tray is made after taking a digital impression of the jaws. The patient then wears it independently at home - after filling it with whitening agent - following precise instructions.
In addition to the procedures mentioned, many "do-it-yourself" tooth whitening products are now available in pharmacies and drugstores, but their efficacy is inferior to that of dental bleaching procedures. Nor should we underestimate their damaging potential without dental advice.
Technical
At-home teeth whitening can generally take from a few days to a few weeks, depending on the concentration of the whitening agents and the daily application time. It's important to follow your dental professional's instructions to achieve the best results while respecting the safety and health of your teeth and gums.
